What if you could gather analytics on your drinking game?

My friends and I have a favorite drinking game, Beer Ball. The jokes we made about getting each other’s stats got out of hand: I developed an analytics system which measures how good you are at the game and logs it to a spreadsheet. Are you an accurate ping pong ball thrower? A fast chugger? Great on defense? Which side of the table is really favored?

The important questions of the day must be solved.

OK, it’s silly, but I’m quite proud of this prototype. I built 4 units and an Arduino-based central “CPU Box”, programmed it in C, and soldered all the electronics myself. The whole project took about 200 hours (with some help from friends). The final product was far from a rough draft: it included aesthetic LEDs, allowances for drunken behavior (magnetic breakaway systems and replaceable parts), and a clean front panel.
